Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves
Trunnion mounted ball valves are robust, quarter-turn valves where the ball is mechanically supported by trunnions (shafts) at the top and bottom, unlike floating ball valves where the ball moves freely, making them ideal for high-pressure, large-bore, and demanding industrial applications like oil & gas, as they offer lower operating torque, improved stability, and greater durability by preventing excessive seat wear.
The fixed ball design allows line pressure to push the seat against the ball for sealing, reducing friction and actuator size.

What is a Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve?
Trunnion mounted ball valves are heavy-duty, quarter-turn valves in which the ball is rigidly supported by upper and lower trunnions, rather than being free-floating as in floating ball designs. This construction provides enhanced stability and strength, making these valves well suited for high-pressure, large-diameter, and demanding services such as oil and gas applications, while also reducing operating torque and minimizing seat wear.
